Hi, I'm Margaret Harlos...

Owner of Living Organized, a professional organizing and home staging company servicing South Simcoe County.

I developed my organizational skills in early childhood and have been using them for people just like you ever since.

In my formal education, I started out as a Child/Youth Worker and combined that with my love of seniors later in my career adding Gerontology, Life skills Coaching and Teaching & Training Adults. Over the course of 20 years in the not-for profit social service sector I’ve written policy, prepared funding grants, developed a variety of programs and created community partnerships in a rewarding career of helping people.

Prior to my formal education I worked as a secretary for the associate director of education in Alberta, was head housekeeper at a Banff hotel, worked in sales and hospitality. All positions of leadership, where I was provided with opportunities to hone my natural skills for organization, coordination and creativity.

In this journey, I also moved many times across the country. I have learned the art of keeping only those items that are much needed and truly important. I’ve become exceptional at using space effectively and to create a beautiful space where I chose to lay my head. Even though some places lacked grandeur, I always made it calm, relaxing and an inviting home to live in.

I would say that my greatest strength is being able to see a path from where you are today to where you want to be. I love helping people improve the organization of their space.

I regularly appear on Rogers Daytime TV and my company has been featured in several local newspapers.

I have been a feature speaker for businesses and private groups including the Barrie Chamber of Commerce, Retired Teachers of Ontario and Professional Organizers in Canada.

I was honoured as the recipient for the Entrepreneur of the Year Award at The Greater Innisfil Chamber of Commerce Gala in 2008.

I am Graduate of the Staging Diva Home Staging Training Program, a member of Professional Organizers in Canada and the past PR & Marketing Coordinator for the North GTA Chapter and re-elected Secretary for a third term with The Alcona Business Association.
